MONEY ME

a financial portrait generator

MONEY ME addresses personal financial standing and self-image.  The collected portraits capture highs and lows of ones fiscal life-span by collecting a processing yearly financial makeup and the subjects portrait through a developed algorithm. These portraits abstract and emotionalize the fiscal experience, something more than the physical, emotional, or psychological experience that portraiture is often utilized in capturing.

MONEY ME is a framework in generative format and algorithmic process using financial informatics.

Personal Informatics, when applied to art, generates something experiential primarily for ones own sake rather than for an audience. In purpose, MONEY ME Financial Informatics enable self-reflection on ones fiscal behavior through a coded-memoir conceptual-currency proxy Self Portrait. Through MONEY ME, the users financial informatics merge with Digital Photographic Portraiture enabling a precise abstract image of ones fiscal experience that stands in both visual and conceptual equity. These images are processed once a year, are face mounted, and intended to be preserved in relation to each other in a meditative space.

This project was developed in 2009 and is an ongoing/lifelong  project conducted by the artist with her participants.
